The dresser is solid redwood. This item is one-of-a-kind. It is completely hand made, using only non-power hand tools aside from the knob, which use a lathe. It is crafted of solid redwood with pine drawer sides and bottoms. The case assembly uses mortises, dovetails and rabbets all hand cut. The sides are fitted to the top with dovetails and the drawer rails are loked to the frame with dovetail joints. The drawers are hand dovetailed front and back with solid pine sides and bottoms. Knobs on the drawers are hand made with oak and walnut and fitted into drawer fronts. The back is shiplap construction, hand grooved and tongued. All hardware is solid brass. The inside back is finished with satin white paint, the back with flat black paint. The entire dresser has 5 coats of hand rubbed finish. The drawer interiors are left natural.
